So I have a question ... since I have been using Fusion A+B and my potassium level is over 600 now, I'm looking into maybe using soda ash and calcium chloride for dosing but then do I need to dose trace elements ?

What is every one else doing ?

Nowadays I go the easy route and choose All-For-Reef almost 2 years ago and never went again with anything else. The ONLY thing I do test next to (Nitrate/Phosphate) is Alkalinity. I do not even bother about checking Calcium and Mag etc.

I do not say it is the way anybody should do it but it works great and it prevents me to go down the "rabbit hole" constantly :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Dosing trace elements depends on bio load of your tank and how often you do water changes. As a rule of thumb, reef tanks younger then 1 year and with few corals do not need trace element dosing as you can replace them with water changes.

My tank is about 1.5years old but I have to dose about 1L (~32oz) of both A+B to keep up with alkalinity and calcium

I use soda ash and it works for me..about 2 yrs ago I did an icp test, which I sugges you do also, and it shown low trace elements so I start dosing them manually..and my corals just took off

I just did ICP test and my potassium is at 600 which is little too high I do weekly 5 gallon water changes it’s a Waterbox 90.3
