When i first got the dotty the shrimp ended up having shirt antennae...now they long but my dotty back has a red fungus looking ring around him between his back and tail idk what it is or if its battle wounds from attempting to thwack the skunk cleaner any help also what can i use to treat it

Can you post a pic?

If it’s a battle wound and there is a red ring of sorts it’s most likely the fishes protective slime coating has been breached and a bacterial infection has set in. This red ring infection will often spread over the fish and is usually quite stressful as the fish now has to battle regulating the salts within it and without it. I would treat this condition with Seachems Kanaplex and Seachems focus added to the food you feed all of your fish. This will treat both bacterial and fungal infections. On another note I’ve often had fish from the dottyback family consume my ornamental shrimp.
