So was working in the tank repositioning a wavemaker and after I got it set where I wanted it I went under the cabinet to plug it back in. Well in that split moment my purple dottyback decided the fan housing was a great place to explore. Well I plugged it in and heard a weird noise. Looked up just in time to see the fish shoot across the tank like it was shot out of a cannon! It scurried into its normal hiding cave like a dog with its tail tucked. Well she has a small gash on her upper back near the middle of her dorsal fin. After hinding for a bit she came back out and is still swimming around and acting mostly like herself. Should I just leave her in the tank and monitor? My quarantine tank is currently not setup. This was one of my first fish I got two months ago and surprisingly despite their reputation of being a tank terror, has had zero issues with its tank mates.

I would say monitor. The stress of a newly set up quarentine tank and move doesn't sound worth it. If shes having trouble getting food or picked on, you could try an isolation box for in-tank for a while.

Since the QT isn’t set up, I would just monitor.
