wondering how overflow vendor's evolved i to triple redundancy for overflow. How many people ever see water in emercency. Set up correctly only a trickle in 2nd overflow which is ti kick in if primary siphon has issues but needing a third ? Also on the band wagon of simplicity so every lenght of pipe you add and every hole you drill increases odds of issues so why not cut out the 2nd return, not needed for flow, 1" pipe can return alot of turnover.

The 'problem' with the dual drain herbie is mostly in the way people set them up - mostly failing to realized that their emergency will not be able to handle the full flow in the event the primary becomes completely blocked. The triple drain bean avoids this particular operator error by allowing for a backup siphon. Whether its really necessary or not .....

Set up your return chamber so that it doesn’t hold enough water to flood the tank in the first place
