Down draft skimmer solution ?

For years I've been using a etss 800 on my system . Lots of friends of mine went back to cone skimmers due to energy cost.recenty I was thinking the same but my skimmer I think does better then most skimmers out there . I think I found a solution to keep my skimmer a only use 80w instead of 175 w . I recenty purchased a jebao 12000 dc pump I have read there being used externally has anyone tried it yet ?

I can't talk to the jebao pumps specifically, but I know if some folks in my local club that have them hooked up externally. Even if you had to run it internally, that would save you some cash.
