Dr Reef Quarantined Fish

Well I ordered fish back in November and we set a specific date for delivery in January. I confirmed the fish would be shipping just before the weekend and took the arrival day off work.

I didn’t receive a shipping notice but because we had spoken I assumed all was well. Arrival day no communications and when I tried calling no one answered after multiple calls. Sent and email. Nothing. Called again Ayer that day and the number isn’t available? Today same thing. Call doesn’t go through at all.

I checked the website and it says they aren’t shipping due to cold weather. But no emails telling us this?

Im excited for my fish and I’ve read good things about DrReef. Wondering if he got covid or something? Hope not. Very strange.

He seems to be rather inconsistent like that. I hear a lot of great stuff about him and his fish, but I had the opposite experience. More emails would go unanswered than answered, sometimes tagging him on humble fish would work, but not always. The last email I got from him said my fish would ship out in 7 to 10 days. That was in July (6 months ago). They never did show up and I never heard from him again.

I think he just gets in way over his head and doesn't have, or doesn't want, any help. Of course that ends up driving away customers. I'm sure he's generally great to work with, but I personally wouldn't order again.

I would check on the forum he belongs too

Edit: wow after checking HF it appears they removed him as QT vendor due to flukes and no coms.

Update - it appears Mike went down with covid. That’s what his website is saying. Resuming shipping next week. So that’s evidently the reason for the lack of communication.
