Dr. Reef

I just put in an order with Dr. Reef. Communication is excellent and I was able to add in additional livestock while the fish were being qt. I’ll try and post pictures when I receive the fish.

My order took 6 weeks was told would take 2 at time of order. Next morning early delivery and one of the fish was almost dead and extremely skinny under weight. I was able to nurse her back to health.

Great - would this be a positive or negative review - Curious which fish?
It's great that you were able to nurse a fish from 'almost dead' Seriously - most people here find that close to impossible. Oh - yeah - did you talk to the vendor?

What did you happen to order?

I have an order with them currently

I'm neutral at this point I have talked to Dr Reefs when the fish arrived. I took pics and sent. Told them I was trying to nurse her back to health. They said they would take care of it if she died. She was floating sideways in the bag breathing so moved her into my waiting hospital tank turned the air stone to high. Took 2 days before she started to move and swim around. Another day or 2 before she would start to eat. After a few weeks had her plumped up and moved her to the DT. She is doing well. I will give Dr Reef another purchase. Female Blue Jaw trigger in this Pic in the center.

2 Blue Jaw Triggers male and female. And I will give them another purchase. Like I said they did say they would take care of it had she not survived. I was not happy about how skinny she was or how long it took when they said 2. So neutral review for now.

That's a 5" molly in the Pic. Freaking monster molly.

What is a two-week long QT? Didn’t know that’s a thing.

It means they are already in stock in qt and they just need to do their final 2 week observation period. Go look at the various fish listing's they say the availability status.

I'd pay big bucks for a molly that big...

I just placed my first order from dr reef yesterday. I'm hoping it goes well since I plan on placing a couple more large orders to stock my tank. Will update with what happens.

I've ordered from him several times, and will continue to do so. My first order, one fish had some issues with shipping and didn't make it. No issues with submitting a claim. Can't go wrong with them

I purchased 2 more fish from Dr. Reefs that arrived last week. They are a Purple and White Tail Tang. The Purple Tang is captive bred and a juvenile and was bred by Quality Marine. They both look beautiful and are very healthy. Dr. Reefs was able to send both Tangs in the same shipment so they could be added to my tank at the same time.

I've also bought 4 fish from Marine Collectors which I would highly recommend for quarantined fish as well. I'm lucky that I can pickup the Marine Collectors fish locally. Their fish look perfect and are acclimated to frozen foods and pellets.

I think Dr Reef deserves high marks. any alternate fish source is an LFS who likely hasn't taken any steps towards disease identification before shipping. I'm not paying for bulletproof service, zero fail rate, I'm paying for someone taking the verified extra step with the animals well above alternate market options, then I take it from there. if some degree of fish had a breakthrough illness it wouldn't freak me out because this is an imperfect game. I'm paying for the trusted effort, I don't think any fish vendor attains 100% perfect transfer + long term sustain rate. he weeds out bad specimens handily

Dr Reef is by far the best fish vendor out there. Incredible customer service. Mistakes happen no matter the industry but Dr Reef always takes accountability and puts customer service first. Plus I always get a great discount on already well priced fish. If Dr Reef has what you’re looking for definitely go with them.

You should preference this with "in your opinion" or "in your experience". Not state it as a fact.
