Hi! I am about to add in my Dr. Tim’s bottled bacteria and ammonia (320 drops) into my 90 Gal + 20 Gal sump. I was wondering how long I should take out the foam + filter socks from my sump after adding ammonia and bacteria. 48 hours should be long enough, correct? Don’t wanna waste bottle

I would keep the foam in the tank as it is a great surface for bacteria to grow on. Dr Tim's recommends removing the socks for 48 hours I believe because the socks can potentially filter out bacteria. Here is dr Tim's recommendation.

As for ammonia it won't be filtered out so if you're dosing that you won't need to remove your filter socks

Yes, I read that and kept in foam. I accidentally stirred up sand a bit moving my rocks, so will add the bacteria and chloride in a little bit. I will keep socks out for 48 hrs. Thank you!
