It has been 3 days since dosing 2 ppm of ammonia to tank. I have not seen nitrite yet at all. How soon does it show up in a fishless cycle? Thanks

Have you tested for ammonia and nitrate yet? Bottled bacteria work very fast. I barely had a nitrite reading when I fired up my current tank.

Ok. Don’t sweat it. Some tanks take longer. Give it a few more days.

I did the same dr Tim’s fishless cycle on my new tank. It took almost two weeks to see the ammonia go down for me just be patient all tanks react differently

I have a similar question: I added Dr. Tim's One and Only 6 days ago and a little ammonia 5 days ago. I've been holding steady at 1.0 ammonia since then. Do I keep waiting or should I add more ammonia? In other words, does more ammonia help feed the bacteria? I know there is such a thing as adding too much ammonia, but is there such a thing as adding too little ammonia?

Not really sure I think my tank is cycled now but have to get a salifert test kit to know for sure. So hard to read api. I would add enough to get it back 2.0 that’s what I did and eventually like day 9 or 10 it worked. Now I did add a sponge from my old tank in sump.
