Dr. Time Waste Away Time Release Gels Marine

Nitrites and phosphates have been high. I've been doing weekly 30% WC and still high.

I added Dr. Tim's Waste Away Time Release Gels Marine a few days ago. Today, at the top and bottom, it had big snot-like gel bubbles on the top and bottom of it.

Question 1.... Is that normal?
question 2.... Should I remove the snot-like gel bubbles?

i did remove the snot-like gel bubbles, just want to make sure I should have. Or if it's not normal.... Should I remove the whole thing??

It should slowly release the gel from the packet. That is the bacteria coming out.

Question on using Dr Tim’s Waste Away Gel

I put Dr Tim’s Waste Away Gel In my sump and ten days later it has this slime stuff all over it. Is this normal? What is this stuff? Should I remove it?
