Dr Tims one and only

Yes more amonia was added are these parameters not good enough once the amonia comes down to 0
The Nitrite has dropped over the last 3 days and the nitrate have gone from 0 to1

Sounds like you did not measure the ammonia just after adding it.

The reason I keep asking about this is becupause there isn’t much nitrite or nitrate which seems to point to hardly any ammonia being added and possibly little nitrification capacity in your system.

What test kit are you using to measure ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

Hi i never measured it after adding it was the next day as Dr Tims instructions.
I have been using 2 different kits I have a salifert And jbl marine
I have used a full bottle of Dr tims 60ml
Witch says it's enough for 350lt tank

My tank glass was full of shimmy Algle and what I read was this is a sign of diatoms forming in tge tank.

Did you start the aquarium with live rock or sand? If so, this explains the odd data. I ask because the aquarium is too new for the glass to be covered with algae.

Which is what I specifically suggested because otherwise, as I noted previously, you cannot know if there is either an ammonia solution failure or a kit failure.

Hi thanks for the reply
No live sand used and dead live rock I purchased second hand.
I scraped the tank glass with a scraper and you could see all the alge coming off the glass floating in bits.
I will see how it goes for another week and keep testing
Thanks

Instead of redosing the tank again, you can just take some tank water out, add the same ratio of ammonia to that volume of removed water, and measure it with one or both kits. if it reads correctly, then you are good to go.
