Dr Tims Question

New to the forum. I am an expierenced Fresh Water keeper that just got back into saltwater after 20 years. I am cycling a 30 gallon tank, live sand/dry rock. PH 7.9-8.0 Salinity 1.019, Temp 81. Using Dr Tims fishless cycle. On DAY 6. My ammonia dropped today from 1.0 (DAY 5) to .25. My NO2 still hanging around 5.0 although using API test kit so it is difficult to get an exact value. I decided not to dose any more Ammonium chloride for now as I have read too much can actually stall the cycle and cause sky high NO2 levels. I have in the past used "fish in" cycle so this is kinda new. A lot of info out there and some of it says the opposite of each other. My plan is to just test everyday and wait until BOTH NH3 and NO2 get down to .25. Then re-dose and see how the tank handles that. Is that a sound plan or should I have dosed again. Any advice

I'd just wait til ammonia and (not so important) nitrite are gone and then add a fish assuming you dosed the whole bottle. You can turn the heat up a little to help speed things along if you wish.
