I am interested in those who have chosen this form of treatment to battle cyano. I am trying to use a natural remedy. I have a Red Sea 525XL (139gal) and have dosed twice for 100 gallons and once for 120 gallons with no noticeable results. I was worried about dosing too much for fear of killing my shrimp and snails as stated on the bottle. Your thoughts please. Thanks.
Currently nitrate 5.0 and phosphate .07.

Use Chemiclean. It has been used thousands of times and works great with very few if any adverse reactions to other tank inhabitants.

Chemi-clean is a band-aid, not a resolution. He needs to get his nutrients under control.

Are you running a UV? Did your turn your skimmer off and remove carbon?
I have not run my UV since I started treatment. I have turned off my skimmer for 24 hours after each dose. I am running a carbon however nothing I read indicated this was an issue and the directions didn't say to stop.

Thanks; I purchased this a few weeks ago however I was hesitant to use it. I also purchased a large air pump with 2 air stones as I was told it would deplete the Oxygen in the tank.

Instructions state you need 48 hours with no protein skimmer. You're probably killing the bacteria

His nutrients are great. I'd love to have 5 and .07. 10 for NO3 and .1 for PO4 and lower are the desirable numbers. Trying to lower the numbers can result in bottoming them out.

Bottle of Refresh states turn off UV and skimmer for 8-12 hours after dose. I leave mine off 24 hours.
