Been battling bubble algae for some time now. I’ve tried vibrant just gave me cyano and diatoms, tried tons of emeralds and now just manually removing but comes back and I have some in cracks and crevices I can’t get to. Contacted dr Tim he sent me a recipe for it..re fresh and waste away. My tank has fish, Coral, shrimp, snails and clams. I’ve heard it can harm inverts and clams. Has anyone used these product and can tell is it will harm anything or even combat the BA?

Don’t know personally, so bump.

What did he send you? I literally just emailed them asking for help on Bubble Algae.

Originally they sent me this so I bought the product. I’m very ODC and have followed to a T and have had SPS brown out and brown glass film, etc. I have called and emailed multiple times and nothing.

Never used refresh, but I have used waste a way. Waste away is just waste degrader type bacteria. Unlikely to hurt anything in your tank unless conditions allow them to reproduce to such an extent that they used up all of the oxygen. Since they consume Nitrate and Phosphate they can make cyano etc... worse initially as they affect the nutrient balance which some pest algae can take advantage of, but should improve over time. Not sure about the effect on BA though. I've got BA in one tank and I've been contemplating replacing my Tomini tang with a foxface because the emerald crabs don't seem to put a dent in it.

Just did a recommended treatment for Dino which required 3 doses of refresh. My maxima clam died. All my snails and hermit crabs survived though... but they weren’t happy.

I wish the warning label mentioned clams explicitly. Would’ve taken him out during treatment.
