I am going some where with this,, so bear with me for a min. I have a friend that has the best looking Dragon Soul Favia I have ever seen,, lots of orange & black in it. All of the ones I have seen over the years, none compare to his and I am hoping to get a frag of it at some point :)

So,, I am looking at a vendors site the other day, and he had what he called a Uber Dragon Soul Favia frag for sale, my question is, is there such a thing, is there a regular Dragon Soul Favia and a Uber one? Is my friends a Uber one or just a really nice looking regular one that has great color on it? I didn't buy the one from the vendors site, should have, I was placing a order anyway :)

There is no such thing as "uber" or "ultra" anything. It is a term used to describe a more intense coloration than normal and to hopefully warrant a higher price tag.

+1

All marketing. Prism favia has been around for awhile. Suddenly a brighter colored one got called dragon soul. There have been dozens of colonies collected and aquaculture over the years. Some specimens will show better colors. So now they just stick an adjective in front of the name. You know it is even nicer if they put two adjectives in front.

Be aware many times the better color is due to growing conditions like water quality and lighting. If your tank does not have the same conditions. The coral may resort back to the dragon favia without the adjective.

Thanks for the advice,, I had someone pick me up a nice chunky frag today from the LFS :)
