Here is my dragon soul adventure. 2 months ago I lost my dragon soul torch to what I think was too much flow, lesson learned. I recently bought a dragon soul torch from another reefer. It was a good deal.

I will post pics. This one seems to have shorter tentacles. But it has the colors of a dragon soul. As far as I know and researched there are only indigo/long tentacle Torches.

He said it is a newer split. If it is younger could it just be smaller now and need some time to grow?

Any advice from refers with experience with torches??

It’s day 2 in the tank

1st pic is my old dead dragon
2nd pic is Current in my tank (not good pic sorry)
3-5 pics is of pics he had sent.

I just got a few new dragon souls as well. They looked small for the first few days, but about the 1-1.5 week mark they opened up and looked awesome. Give it a few more days to adjust!

Also forgot to ask. If it is a new head compared to a head that split that would make it smaller also right???

Both just got migrated to the bigger tank moderate flow from our gyre XF330 par is about 160 at peak time. We spot feed benepets and RS AB+ every few days or so. They both have colored well under our XR30's.

My advice would be not to react to quickly when they close up when we got our first torch we babied it. Which meant we moved it when we thought it was unhappy when in reality we should have just left and the rest is history. I have a rule to just leave it on the plug of a few days sitting on the frag rack, if after a few days it looks happy and healthy I'll glue it down to its designated torch area.

The tentacles seem short but the colors seem correct. Does it look like a true Dragon soul? I just hope it’s the long tentacle one that I love and want

Tbh, it looks closer to a NY Knicks torch, which is more vibrant than the DS. Pretty similar, and someone more experienced than I with high end torches would have to tell you the differences. Maybe @gws3 can help you
