Dragon soul revival help

I thought I had lost my dragon soul but it is hanging on with three bits of green, the rest of the coral has died. Can I cut this down to give it a chance of recovering?

I think cutting it now would be the nail in the coffin for the little guy. Best to leave it and keep everything inline and stable
