250 par for a torch seems like a lot. Seems like a lot for any lps for that matter

250 par may be too much. That said, corals sometimes change color depending on the tank. Mostly hear that on sps though..

250 to start with is definitely too much and it does look to be bleaching.

Once acclimated to that par it would be ok.

Can you drop it anywhere in the tank with same flow and around 150 par?

A lot of stuff I have read says torches are higher par LPS and tidal Gardens even says it can improve coloration.
This green torch is at about 230

Obviously bwas taken under different lighting, but the color doesn't appear faded at all.
This one has been in the tank about 6mo.

Yeah, water change day is tomorrow. I can put it under a rock overhang in lower par and see if it starts to look any better.

I would try moving it and see what happens.

Maybe it was under lower lighting and there sudden increase in par is causing it

I’d say it looks like it’s starting to bleach out

I moved it under the edge of a rock overhang. I get 200-220 in the sand bed, so it should be less than that now. I'm guessing around 180 on the bright side of it.
Running 3 T5 bulbs
Actinic, blue plus, aquablue special
And a ReefBrite actinic strip.
We'll see how it does there.
Still has good PE and getting decent flow.

One of the best "torch heavy" tanks I have seen has PAR near 300 according to its owner. Massive flow too.
