Any know if this stuff is reef safe?

For what it's worth.

I use this in my freshwater tanks. Never thought of putting it in a reef tank.

It usually comes packed with mud and never seems to get completely clean.

There always seems to be more mud.
 
It is limestone based and therefore not very porous so yes it will work as rock but not so much a biological media.

That part doesn’t matter to me because I will have two marine pure blocks in the sump.
