yesterday I transferred my dragon wrasse from the qt to my dt. it didn't eat but swam in front of the tank all day. today I noticed it was laying on it's side half buried in the sand. I thought it was dead. he then swam a little and buried itself in my gsp. now it's just laying in the gsp. it's about three inches and all my other fish are fine. no aggressive fish in the tank. is this normal or should I remove it?

none. the qt and dt have the same parameters. I have done this with all my fish and never had a problem. the fish did start swimming for about four hours, but still wouldn't eat and went back to laying on it's side. I'll see what happens today when the lights come on.

Regardless, the signs you describe are all indicative of stress; not sure what the specific stressor(s) might be. Acclimation shock was the first thing which came to mind.

don't understand why you acclimate a fish going from one tank to another a few feet away with the same parameters. acclimation would in my opinion be more stressful. doesn't matter now as the fish is dead. I guess sometimes stuff happens. went back to the lfs and got a 50.00 soft coral for 10.00 to make up for the loss.
