I want one very badly, how can I tell if my tank will support one, I have two tanks I'm considering it for, my 55 gallon fowlr, or my 29 biocube reef, there is a rusty angel in the biocube which I would happily move to the 55 so the dragonet can go into the biocube because it is my understanding that they have to compete with wrasses and angels for food? How do I know if my tank has copepods. My tanks are around 2 years old, the biocube is what I want to place him in, the biocube currently has two black oxyn clowns, a rusty angel, and two cleaner shrimp, a condy nem, a frog spawn, two kenya tress, red mushrooms, a small duncan, and a trumpet coral

I've got one 10g tank I use strictly for copepods but the primary colony is in the overflow of my 60g cube. In this video I posted you can see them crawling around like tiny bugs... These are the adults. The eggs make their way into the sump and the water column into the tank. This is what they require... I also, just to keep my mind at ease, add an 8oz bottle once a month or so to keep things healthy.

All you really need is any glass container and an air pump/air stone. They eat any sorta phytoplankton but can go long periods without food. Also temp is no problem. Salinity is best kept same as your tank.

There is a great article in coral magazine, you can train these fish, I have a spotted mandarin, he eats frozen Mysis shrimp. I use a large syringe with a tube to feed him, almost like how you feed coral. Sometimes I just throw it in the tank and he will eat, make sure all your pumps are off though, these guys don't really chase frozen food like other fish. Also if you can find one already eating at the Lfs it is easier to train them.
