I all,
I will be installing a ro system soon and I need to know if I can use a drain saddle clamp on a metal drain pipe. The website says it's meant for pvc,but can I use it on a metal pipe?
Has anyone used it on a metal pipe before? Would there be an issue with drilling it before hand? Any advice is very appreciated.

My saddle valve is on a copper pipe. It is a brass valve, might be different than what is used on pvc. It will tap itself

That sounds like the one to tap into the water line.im asking about the one for the drain

As long as the fit around the pipe is correct and the gasket seals it will be fine. Make sure it is on the sink side of the P trap and not the sewer side when installing and to meet plumbing code it should have an air gap faucet or one like a dishwasher uses on the back of the sink.

So the saddle clamp was wayyyy to big.i found one online thats tightens like metal clamp.

What happens if you can only install it on the sewer side?

I just got under my sink and found this unfortunate situation.

It seems there's only one place to install the saddle clamp is here:

What would be the problem with doing that?

Thanks!

If your sewer were to back up, waste water could potentially come in contact with the membranes and maybe make its way to your potable water system worst case. During normal use it will ne exposed to sewer gas such
