Anyone have a drain underneath or next to their stand in case of leaks? We are having our house almost totally renovated and I spoke to the architect about doing this. IN addition to that, rather then having the stand being placed on a wood floor, I was thinking of tiling that spot. For those that have something like this, could you post some pics?

If you were a real fish lover you would not mind a little splashing on your brand new hard wood floors;). I had a tank, fresh, leak on a hardwood floor in my old house and it ruined the area it leaked on. A tile area would be great. Just be sure it is level and it will support the weight of the tank without cracking. You might want to tile the entire room in case you want a larger tank in the future:rolleyes:

I have a 250 gallon. I'm at max now..lol. The hardwood floors it's on now have taken a beating. They are already brand new, luckily when the house is done they will be refinished.

Thats exactly what I want to do. Can you give me more details on how to set it up?
I would get in touch with jsker (he replied to my thread). He has done it....my idea is only in my minds eye now. We are doing renovations on our house now and I am hoping to have the drain installed sometime in the next month or so.
