So I am moving forward with an AWC setup, but my system has limitations......

My tank is on the first floor, with sump under the stand. My house is built over a crawl-space so no basement........

I am picking up a 75 or 90g tank that will be hidden via a decorative chest in my living-room to put the fresh/new Saltwater in...... problem comes with the waste-water.

It would be too obtrusive go put a second tank/hide it for waste-water, and the tank is in a living room.

The tank is along 2 walls...... So the corner of the house basically......

Could I drill a hole a-la cable/internet access style, and run the line directly outside? More importantly, is can I use this method year-round in NE-Ohio, or will that line freeze? Obviously 77 degree Saltwater (which apparently has a freezing point of 28 degrees?) will be going through it. I would have the “exit” hose as close to the house as possible.

Anyone in cold-climate areas drain outside of their homes?

I'd be very concerned about this setup myself. Could you run the line through the floor in the insulation of the crawlspace to a kitchen or bathroom drain?

I have mine plumbed into my sump in the basement buried a 4” pipe to carry all water away from my house. I live in the country and didn’t want salt water draining into my septic tank. I also didn’t want it draining outside that close to my house so as not to soak in beside my foundation or rot the wood in my deck. Every situation is different but I would not want it draining up against my house.

I would have to see what the drain situation is down there, but doubt it

I have faith, I also agree with above, I would never drain saltwater near the house, foundation/weeping tile damage could be real nasty.
