So I've been battling with low MAG for a few months now.
Finally I was able to raise my MAG level to 1500ppm. So I decided once I reached that value I would not dose and test every day for three days to see what my daily usage would be and calculate what to dose on a daily basis.
Yesterday my value was at 1500ppm and when I tested today, it had dropped to 1300ppm. Both tests were done at roughly the same times. Within a half hour of each other.
I've been going through Brightwells Magnesion-P like nobody's business!
Do you think this is a normal drop in MAG in just one day? What do the rest of you experience in MAG usage on a daily/weekly basis?
Some info on my tank:
65gal long
35gal sump with refugium
2X 120w Maxspect razors
Mixed reef with SPS, LPS, and softies
Ph 8.3
DKH 9
CA 450ppm
NO3 >10ppm
PO4 >0.03
Salinity 1.025
Temp 79
What am I missing here?
Now I just added about 10 new frags in anticipation of my new build. Most are LPS and SPS. They all show good growth in the month I've had them and everything else seems to be growing well and doing really well.
Any help or suggestions would be great!
