So,

I had ICK, I QT all my fish at a neighbours, treated them with copper. Lost a few in the meantime.
The DT was left fallow for 76 days - leaving Coral, Snails and shrimp.

I started introducing fish on Monday, So far a blue tang and two clowns. all was good so today i went out and spent some good money on a bunch of new fish which have been RO dipped an are now in first stages of tank transfers before a prazi treatment.

ANYWAY ... I noticed the blue tang has started rubbing up agaisnt rocks again.. you guess it, it looks like ICK again #@%#@$#@$#@%#^$%*&^%$^&%$# to say the least.
If it is so I am afraid this will be my course of action...

Remove all the rock/coral/anemone stick those into the QT treat the display with copper.
What do you all think about that?

Sorry to hear that!

I would opt for a QT rather than treating the DT just in case of a chance of copper residue causing issues down the road...may not happen but better to be safe.

I think you'll spend a lot of time trying to pull all the copper back out of your DT, making it reef safe again.

Thanks guys its a bloody nightmare in my mind.

I hear what you are saying - however plan is to remove all rocks most of the substrate only leaving a thin amount for the Goby.

I’ve just down 76 days of reef only I think Im happier with 76 days of fish this time around.

I’m comfortable just doing substantial water changes after the period is over and will most likely just add in fresh rocks (I have some curing for about 6 months now) and substrate afterwards anyway.

I really don’t knwo where it went wrong. I followed all the steps on the forum including a lot of wisdom from you Humblefish!
