If you were to set up a deep blue 80g rimless that was bare bottom what would be your dream sheet of equipment? Lights, filter set up, skimmer ext money doesn't limit your options. I'm looking at setting up one here soon and curious what people would get. Keep in mind it would be a display frag tank

I have a Deep Blue 80 for a "display frag tank." It has a 8 x 54W T5, 2 MP40WES powerheads, an ADHI refugium, Mag 9.5 for return, and a Euro Reef CS6-2+ skimmer. The frags grow rather quickly, especially the SPS pieces. I must tell you, I am not a huge fan of the bare bottom, though. I tried bare bottom as an experiment as all my other tanks have sand beds, and when I set up the next tank, it too will have sand.

For me.....

8 x 54 T5, 2x MP40, SRO 2000, Mag 12 with a manifold for reactors and drain for quick WC if needed, custom sump, and koralia nanos in the sump to keep detritus from building up.
