I had a planet aquariums 280 on order, but the order has been cancelled. I have decided to go a different way. If you had your dream tank what brand would you go with and why do you think it is elite? Price is equivalent to quality, but there is a limit.
I have talked to Jeff over at LifeReef and I have decided to go with his system. It comes with his protein skimmer which i have heard of lasting 20+ years, his media reactors, filtration, and refugium design. He offers good customization on colors. I am going with the fluorescent orange. Does anyone have experience with him as well?

Red sea release their entire REEFER line a couple of years ago+ there has been nothing but positive feedback, successes and low maintenance from What I have seen.

Thanks, but they do not make an aquarium large enough

Does anyone know a good source for steel stands?

this may help- I would check your local white pages for welders in your area and also visit area pet stores and see if any have welded stands and ask them who built it or who they can recommend with reasonable prices.
Finally, many technical colleges look for these projects for their students and will charge just for materials to give their students the experience of custom fabrication.

My daughters' college has an auto body program that does body work very cheaply, and a dental course which does dental work for a few dollars and woodworking shop program that builds cabinets very reasonable

Awesome man. Thanks for the heads up.

Dream tank would be a 400g mainland cube. It may not be the fanciest, but I love the dimensions.

But I would settle for a 150 cube if I had to

I had a quote from Planet, but ending up going with Coast to Coast. I have zero regrets. The quality of the work is a major step up from my previous Red Sea Reefer and I'm a big fan of their external overflow. Correspondence with the company was significantly easier + faster than other custom builders. They also build steel stands.
