So I got this tang 2 weeks ago or so. It had been in the lfs a few weeks in a qt/copper tank.

I noticed spots on it so have qtd it.
I been dosing reefmedic since most other disease medication are not available in Australia.
I thought it was looking better until today.
I just gave it a 4 min fresh water dip which seems to have made it much more obvious.
How often can you fresh water dip?

Unfortunately, fresh water dips do very little towards solving the underlying parasitic infection.

Where dot the lfs get the copper it used to qt the fish earlier?

The stage of the infection is quite advanced. If you can't find copper, you might try hyposalinity quarantine but it may be too late.

Search for hyposalinity on this forum and you will find instructions.

As retailers they have access to stuff us mere hobbiests are able to acquire
I recognize that's an issue, but can the retailer not offer some type of assistance in these circumstances, even to the point of you returning the fish to be QT in copper at his location?

I've found one place that was willing to give a refund and treat the fish themselves but that's rare from my experience

This is velvet and TTM will take quite long not to mention stress imposed , but you can do hyposalinity. Medic is a peroxide salt although it did work for me with addition of Ruby Rally Pro for 7 days.
One method that may work is hyposalinity in which you would lower salinity to 1.009 and can be achieved by removing a quart of water every 15 mins until salinity lowered and add an airstone for added oxygen.

I am fairly certain hypo does not work on velvet. Only ich and flukes.
