So I think my first attempt was a success, but on the 2nd hole, the drill bucked and chipped the outer face of the glass.
Wondering if it will eventually crack.

I would silicone that chip and water test the bulkheads. You should also sand the hole and clean up the inside a bit. It looks like you didn't finish the hole.

I'll clean it up and silicone the bulkhead both sides.
 
That was my thought. As long as the bulkhead seal covers it you will probably get away with that. You could try filling that with epoxy, but if you can’t get the seal surface flat you may make it worse.
For reference I’ve had professional made tanks with little chips in the edge of the hole before, albeit smaller than that. But like I said, if you can get a seal you’ll be ok.
