Drilled overflow....in need of your input.

I am picking up my 95 gal glass aquarium later this week and it has one overflow with a rear drilled hole. The hole is 3/4 inch. I would like your input on how adequate this may or may not be. I am looking to place about 80 lbs of live rock (that I have had for about 5 years) in the tank with substrate (obviously). Mostly zoas and lps until I get the hang of it. Some fish eventually maybe 6-10. I mostly am looking at the reef aspect. I will start a new thread with my build out once I get it going.

IMO, I think 3/4 is ok. My 125 ran on 1 inch and it was a single return. My father's tank is a 90 and has a corner overflow with 1 return and it's a 3/4.

a 3/4" drain can't handle that much flow, but if you use something like a mag7 as a return pump you should be good to go. You're just going to need some semi-decent powerheads inside the tank to get some flow!

+1 on powerheads. I would get some good powerheads for flow and not worry about getting a lot of flow from the return pump. If you think about it the slower the flow threw the sump the more contact time your skimmer will have. So the better the water quality. A mag 7 would work good and if it is a little to much you can always add a ball valve to throttle it back a little.
