Anybody ever drill 1/2" thick glass? I'm thinking about getting a DSA 65g without an overflow (their "show" model) and drill the back for gla$$-holes.com overflow box. Was wondering how risky or challenging this would be? Wonder if I took it to a glass shop, if they would do it for a small fee, there's one close to my work.

I heard AC drills holes.

be prepared for it to take a while.. go very slow. you are litterally grinding away the glass to make the hole.

. I would be freaking out the whole time imagining the worst, and then all that negative thought would probably predict the outcome:squigglemouth:....take it somewhere and have it done by someone who knows what they are doing

Chris at AC can do this for you with little risk of breaking anything as they have a Proper Drill Press type outfit for drilling glass, And they are very reasonable too!

I just got my 1/2 inch 150 drilled for the glass-holes overflow it was fast and easy the kit comes with a template that won't let the holesaw walk all over the place if you need help let me know

I've drilled several tanks and the only one that cracked was a 10g. Very thin glass so you can't put too much pressure on it. It's not as hard as you think, if you have a small tank laying around just practice on it first.
