Has anyone had any success drilling a biocube? I need to it for a sump....

Thank you

Glass is glass. I can’t see why drilling an Oceanic tank would be any different from some other brand of tank. Just as long as you don’t drill the bottom glass, because with most Oceanic Biocubes, the bottom glass is tempered. YOU CAN NOT DRILL TEMPERED GLASS! All side and back glass on biocubes are not tempered, and therefore you shouldn’t have a problem.

ok redfishblue fish you are incorrect.
Ironworker No they are not acrylic they are all glass except for the plastic used for the back chambers and outter moldings.

As to the drill ability of the glass I have spoke directly with Oceanic and they stated they have never used tempered glass in any model of their biocube aquariums. You run the same risk of breakage as you do with any time you drill glass.. Nothing more or less.
