I'm doing some reconfiguring and want to drill drains and a return in the bottom of the rear chamber of my IM Lagoon 50. Few questions:

- Anyone have issues drilling the bottom glass? Hoping it's not tempered. I've drilled the back before for an eshopps overflow, but I am going to close that bulkhead with a plug and do 2 drains and one return through the bottom if possible.

- As far as the return goes, any tips for plumbing connections to the pre drilled return nozzle holes? from what I understand the coupler pipe is 19mm so basically 3/4' . Thinking I can connect the hose barbs to some silicone tubing segments connected to a hard plumbed T.

Let me know if you have any pointers.

Thanks!

I would call IM they are responsive and ask for Paul I believe, or anybody if I got the name wrong. PM me for the number or you can look it up. I have the IM Lagoon Nano 25 no rear chamber.

Just shot them an email. I'm 90% sure it will be fine. Can't see them using tempered glass on the bottom and regular on other surfaces.

Yeah I would wait and find out for sure.

pauls awesome, he should be able to answer you, hit up facebook messenger too, they usually respond same day there

Innovative Marine does not use tempered glass on any of there product lines that I know of (I've spoken to there customer service numerous times asking this same question but not for there EXT AND INT lines so they might but I doubt that as well ), no real reason to. Definitely reach out and confirm with customer service as that never hurts but I wouldn't think twice about drilling it myself. :)

Paul responded. Glass is non-tempered, so fine to drill. Obviously it voids my warranty, which probably expired a while back anyways.

I know it’s been 4+ years, but did you ever drill this? Any pics?
