Drilling into rubble to seat frag plugs?

I’m just wondering if anyone has drilled holes into rock rubble to seat frag plugs. I always break off the plug part but I don’t like how the base sits up on the rock. So I’m thinking about creating a pocket in the rubble to seat the plug.

Has anyone done this? Would appreciate any thoughts

a right sized masonry bit works like a charm!

Yes, i did for a gorgonian because they dont glue well.

yes but with used Ora plugs since they won't break off in the hole.

1/2 masonry bit.
I tried a old hole saw but it's only good for 2 holes max

Depends on the Rock, for hard Coral Rock a Masonry Bit, for Soft Coral Rock, an old Worn Regular Wood/Steel Bit.
