I'm getting close to plumbing my new aquarium, and need to make some key plumbing decisions. I'm also a big fan of minimizing the number of power cords that go into the water. A faulty powerhead in the past made all the fish jump from the tank.

The RUBY36 sump for the system has never been wet before. With return pumps, auto water change pumps, and the external skimmer, the system requires 3 holes respectively.

The sump itself will be 3-4ft off the ground, so pumps could be placed below for an ultra clean and organized plumbing system.

I would like to know what you think. Is drilling the holes worth the risk?

Well I might be a little biased cause I have 5 holes in the bottom of my actual Display but I don't see anything wrong with it as long as you plumb it carefully :)

I think its totally worth it
