I want to combine two sumps. Where is the best spot to put the bulkhead?

It depends on what you have and what your goal is, do you have any pics and a detailed description of what you want to do? There are a lot of different sumps out thereI want to combine two sumps. Where is the best spot to put the bulkhead?
Thank you! Couldn’t even tell you how many threads I scoured...If you’re talking about a balancing pipe between the two sumps then you want it as low down as possible.
Sump A is the sump I’m running now. I’d like to connect the eshopps sump (sump b) so I can run a skimmer and propagate some chaeto.

I might be over thinking this, but would that 8” baffle be an issue? Would the water height in both sumps need to be greater than 8”?I think I noted this in your other thread - use a large diameter balancing pipe, particularly if the gap between the two sumps is more than a foot. I'd use 2"
I’ve combined both. I just used a bulkhead in each. The first bulkhead is at 3” and the othe is roughly 2 3/4”, creating a slight pitch for the water to move more efficiently. Has worked perfectly, in fact I’ve thought of adding another plastic tub to expand my current set upBeen scouring for this information. Saw you on another thread trying to find the same info. I might start my own thread but will also post here. Might have to attach a file image but will try a quick copy/paste of my proposed schematic:

I guess the larger question is: What is safer?
a) a low in the sump, zero slope, large diameter waterbridge?
b) A traditional, gravity overflow system?
Pros? Cons?
Same hob overflow, same return pump. I changed nothing flow rate wise. The passive drain pipe has them acting as one body of water.I’ve combined both. I just used a bulkhead in each.
