Drilling Tank After Setup

I currently have my returned plumbed over the tank. Tanks been up over a year. I suppose it's to risky to drain some water and drill a bulkhead for the return.
 
Yes that's is a big risk.
Even a Pro won't touch that.
Just leave it to be and next time with a upgrade or a re-do you can drill as many holes when tank is empty.
 
As others have said. Not a good idea.

That was tempered glass. It would have exploded no matter what he did when drilling it. Wet or dry. Anyhow, as other have said, not a good idea to drill your tank while there is water pressure against the glass. It will likely crack. Also, should double check the manufacturer specks to see if the sides or bottom are tempered. Some tanks do have tempered sides. Like in the video. I've blown one up just like that.
 
Yeah, I'm not going to do it. It was an attempt for some type of magical safe way. I know the back can be drilled because I did that for my overflow. On the list for the next tank.
