I use a float switch in my sump that is attached to a gravity feed fresh water bucket. It works well and uses no electricity.i have a 20 gal sump and lost per day 1 inch of water more less
Do you have picture?I use a float switch in my sump that is attached to a gravity feed fresh water bucket. It works well and uses no electricity.
Sorry no pic, it's in the sump, but let me try and describe it. (look at the link) I added a water drum ( or a bucket) to supply the valve instead of an ro system. You could use an ro system in place of my bucketDo you have picture?
Best

It's very simple. I bought a plastic float valve on ebay, similar to this:
https://www.asap-aquarium.com/products/eshopps-float-valve-automatic-water-top-off-for-sump-refugium
I used 1/4" plastic pipe to plumb to a plastic drum.
I taped a 1/2" threaded hole and inserted a 1/2' x 1/4" quick connect into the bottom of the drum.
All of these pipe fittings use John Guest 1/4" push connect. I put the drum on a stand so the bottom of the bucket is above the sump.
No,If i connect the rodi direct to valve( Rain Bird MSQ2PKS Drip Irrigation 10-32 Threaded Micro-Spray Nozzle, 90° Quarter Circle Pattern, 0 - 10' Spray Distance, 2-Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00J9Q2XHY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_8tm9BbSYVEBHW ) in the sump?
