I got a new toadstool a few weeks ago, and it arrived a little droopy. I had it in one location where it was partially propped up by the rock formation, and it seemed happy but stayed a bit droopy. My wife hated that location so I moved it to a horizontal crevice in the rock work as pictured below.

As you can see, it’s polyps are extended so I think it’s happy, but it’s still fully drooped down.

Should I be concerned?

It’s only been in the new location for 2 days.

Since you have srooms there it is that a low flow area. They tend to like a moderate water flow. I seem to remember that in my low flow zone my toadstool got a bit lazy and flopped over .

It's tough to tell from that pic, but the shroom is somewhat sheltered by the rock from flow (it's actually a bit behind the toadstool), whereas the toadstool is in a place where I would say it's moderate flow. Should I give it more time? Or move it back to where it was, where it was still a little flopped over, but not as much since it could rest more on the rockwork?

I would let it stay for a bit .they don't like being touched thought about being touched or believed you touched them. They then throw a leather tantrum close up ,bend over and or/become all shiny they will recovery. When they get all shiny they will shed and get bigger.

How did this turn out? My toadstool has started to bend as well and I’m a little concerned (I’m 2.5 weeks into having it so new to this whole thing)!

I would say medium? Maybe high? It’s in nuvo 10 with a wave maker at the lowest setting, on the opposite side from both the wavemaker and the return pump. The hair algae in the tank seems to be flowing so that’s what I’m judging from. Do they need lots of flow or less?

Mine is still a bit droopy, but I think it may be less droopy from when I first posted. Pics below.

I've got one in my frag tank that is pretty big and is sloughed over almost like it's too heavy to stay up! HA! I know it's healthy because it's polyps are long and always out!

leathers are a great coral for advanced and newbies alike. Sometimes they just through a leather tantrum .

mine bent over it was in between moderate and heavy flow. I moved it to a moderate flow and it stood up.

Good to know - thanks everyone for the feed back and experience. I’ll try a new placement and see what happens!

Crank up the flow, if you don't have a powerhead already add one, you'll have way better luck with coral in general

No more droop! Upturned and happy.

Also, sort of unrelated to the droop, but funny enough, he seems to be attached directly to the rock and to his frag plug too. A few weeks ago the frag plug got partially knocked out by a snail, but I noticed the toadstool surprisingly looked the same. So, I inspected and saw that he is attached to the rock on part of his base. But, he still is attached to the frag plug too, because I tried to pull it out and that wasn’t happening. No big deal, but I found it interesting. I thought about cutting the plug off him, but it doesn’t bother me, so I’m not messing with it.

Here is a pic of my pretty crowded tank.

Nice. I got one attached to rock work and coral plug and rubble that got waged the plug. They attach and grow over and around objects.
