I picked up a small frag of Xenia yesterday and after a bit it appeared to be doing fine but this morning it hasnt been looking the best. Ive moved the frag to another tank but it seems i can never get coral to grow well in the tank i originally had it in. The water tests fine but ive been wondering if i could potentially have a copper problem? Any help is appreciated!

I did some reading, as I was struggling with Xenia as well. Seems pH has a lot to do with how well they do. I have been experimenting in my tank, it has been a struggle, but getting my pH steadily above 8 seems to keep the xenia happy. Good luck!

Can you please post your water perimeters? Please include CA, ALK, MG, PH, AMMONIA, NITRITE, NITRATE, PHOSPHATE.

How long has your tank ben established? What type of lighting do you have?

Lastly, keep in mind xenia take a few days to acclimated. Same thing happened to me so don't get too worried. I have this species plus pulsing xenia and they are thriving! They grow quickly and can take over your tank. I placed mine in island area of my tank where they can NOT spread rampantly.

^^^Agree with everything above!! Post parameters. Also, be careful as when they take off then they will cover your entire tank. Once mine took off I had to remove rocks in order for it to stop.

However, if this is what you are going for then I say let it do its thing then!! ;-)

This started from a tiny piece I thought died.

You guys are great, i just started posting on here and the amount and quality of helpful answers is incredible! Unfortunately im not sure exactly what my parameters are, i have a salifert test kit that should be here in the next couple days. The tank is a 32g biocube ive had it setup for a few years but had a big problem with red slime back in june and had to do a huge water change to get rid of it.
