Yea I would have to cut the glass in the L shape otherwise I suspect the join to create an L woukd be a major weak point
Do you cut glass? or are you going to have to send that part out to have cut? My question was how would one cut the glass in a L shape, or is there a specialized cutter?

I've only ever cut odd pieces but now that you mention it i didn't think of that... There's a glass shop on my corner I'll go and ask them how it would be done or if they can

it can be done in glass but it would put a lot of pressure on the cut glass that is the L shape, there is another way in glass which is to make a normal shaped tank but then put a shelf on the inside, as for the out side of the tank so that you done see the space under the shelf just put a cover over that section, my self i prefer to make it in acrylic as cutting the L shape is a lot easier.

Thanks I'll see what will be easier for me and attempt it :)
