Hello,

I was trying to adjust my aquatic life hybrid fixture and theres a bb type metal sphere component to the lock. Well that popped out and fell into the tank, no way thats gonna be found. Besides being frusterated that I have to buy a new hanging kit, should I be worried about the metal rusting in the tank? Im assuming its stainless steel, I found a thread here about someone who rusted a blade in there tank to show it didnt do damage. I also read about people having rusting equipment cause problems in their tank. Any further experience here?

just an idea take a magnet seal it inside a zip lock bag and go fishing... for the metal piece lol :)

This or use the magnet portion of a glass cleaner which is plastic sealed.

just in case it has to stay

pics are gone due to hosting site changes but i rusted out a double edge shaving razor in my old 1 gallon pico reef, where dilution isn't there to mask. no issues for my tank, i left it there long enough for vermitids to attach
