While setting up my aquatic life 6 bulb t5 fixture, it fell into the water. I pulled it right out, only part of it became submerged(timer, transformers, 1 of 3 ballast). It was in the water maybe 2-3 seconds. I let it dry out, removed the timer and placed it in the refrigerator in rice to dry it. Today (24 hrs later) I put it all back together, and plugged it in. The display was messed up, then I heard a crackle and a pop... any ideas? Waiting for a call back from aquatic life

Ugh. A little late, but "don't do that" is really the only advise I have for dropping unsealed electronics in saltwater.

Electronics making rice crispy noises is usually a bad thing. Best of luck with AquaticLife.

A complete rinse-out with RODI....even a quick soak or two. Then dry.

But if it's already been turned on with dry saltwater shorting out anything, it may be too late.

Aquaticlife said most likely it is the 12v transformer, so I purchased a new one and a new timer... I'll keep ya posted
