My red fire fish has had a growing belly for a week, moves and eats fine, is it dropsy or something else? I do have a pair of them and I am not sure what the signs are for them breeding.

Marine fish don't get dropsy like freshwater fish do. If the fish are paired up well and not fighting, I would wonder if this is just eggs. Marine fish do develop fluid in their abdomen (ascites) but that comes with other symptoms; rapid breathing, not eating, etc,)
