Drunken Mistake.... what to do?

so drunkenly on vacation i decided to dump money on 2 radions xr30 gen 4s. i thought it was spanking deal that i couldn't pass up! i had been looking for radions for awhile! it wasn't till i got home and looked at my tank that i started doubting my decision... 6 months ago i wouldn't have had a problem with the purchase but then again 6 months ago i had a nanobox hybrid t5/led made for my tank.. to make the situation more interesting i inherited a free kessil a360 the day i got back as well for a possible future frag tank.

decisions... decisions...

now i have 2 radions on the way.. a kessil sitting next to the tank.. and a 4 bulb/ 5 puck nanobox ati hybrid hanging over the tank.

should i switch to the 2 radions for my 48x24x16 sps dominant tank?!?! or do i try and sell them? i just see all the highest end stores running radions with such success that it makes me wonder! i need help!

anyone else make some drunken purchases they regret?!?!

I would keep using what your using. I think you'd need more than two Radions for that sized tank that is SPS dominant.

Up until 3 ish years ago I'd never run protein skimmers on personal systems, always been a really simple aquarist. Then one night drinking with other aquarists I vaguely remembered looking at protein skimmers and turns out I ordered one. I kept it. Liked it even. I find now that if I'm debating a couple pieces of equipment all I have to do is wait for buzzed/drunk me to make the decision and it's usually correct hahaha (;

Joking aside, I think you should keep what you've got up there. I love hybrids, but that's just me.

yea this is what im leaning towards now. i didnt think it all the way through. maybe put a xr15 in the center.... lol

Joking aside, I think you should keep what you've got up there. I love hybrids, but that's just me.

yea i cant do livesales or look at reef2reef while buzzed.. it keeps emptying my wallet.

Radions (LEDs) are cheaper to operate, not as hot, and don’t have to be replaced. I vote Radions.

I just did the same thing with a gyre pump and a box of Jason Fox corals. Oh yeah and a cherry bomb tenius, pink, floyd acro, and, well pretty much every nice thing I have. No one ever said this hobby is responsible, just expensive!

T5 or metal halide for sps heavy system. Use leds for color pop.

I just bought several Radions too and installed them. So far, I like the move. Oh, my motto is never Drink and Amazon, which goes for any online spending sprees!

i love the radions... honestly they are amazing and live up to the hype buttt what i dont like is the empty wallet
