Is it normal to have unknown things in the rock? I haven’t noticed it in other dry rock Ancient reef rock I bought in the past, but this piece has something in it. My concern would be a heavy metal. I’m probably just being paranoid because this is a reboot and I don’t want to start out from the get go with an issue. You can kind of see what I’m talking about in the pictures

It’s not just discoloration, its actually something in the rock. Looks like a gray small rock or metal in the reef rock. I’m tempted to take that entire rock out of my tank, unfortunately it’s the biggest one that came in the shipment.

Pull it from the tank... use a drill and a small masonary bit and create a fault line .. hit it with a hammer and break that section off if worried.
