I'm adding another 30lbs of sand to my 55G Long reef aquarium. I wanted to know if it needed to be cycled first. I asked the company and they told me no, just rinse well and place in Tank. I just want to double check with other reefers. Thanks!

It depends on how your tank was previously cycled and maintained. If it has been cycled and has a cuc already. Adding 30 more pounds of aragonite to make a dsb wont need to be cycled. It can house beneficial bacteria in a few months but you won't need to do anything but have a little flow on it to limit ditritus.

agreed.
