Hey guys , I’m very curious what the majority of people head down to their LFS to buy ( dry goods)
What do people believe are the most commonly purchased dry goods at an LFS ?

I ask this question because I am in the process of opening a small store and have limited space to stock dry goods for future customers

I personally buy all my fish food , coral dip and frag plugs & glue at my LFS

Salt, carbon, fish food, putty, maybe a piece of dry rock.

But I rarely go to a LFS anymore so many of those above items I buy online when I buy test kits or RO supplies.

Been out of the business almost 30 years but were I starting a store today then I’d consider going to a few in other areas and speaking with their owners. Did that back then.
As long as you’re not direct competition then you should get good advice. Fact is that the general customer base aren’t those posting on this forum. Many are going to be walk ins who started small and then grew to larger tanks. Why relationships more important than that sold.

I order mostly online these days for convince sake as I live in a rural area with nothing closer than 45 minutes. My lfs will normally match online prices but some times the drive is the deal breaker. I did drive up yesterday for some copper reagent.
Edit: I buy my frozen food from the lfs.
