Not sure where I should put this. I just bought about 125lbs of rock someone had in their tank for 10+years. They had their tank crash and they took the rock out and put it in trash cans with powerheads and a heater. He said one day he went out and the smell was awful so he took the rocks outside and sprayed them down. My question is should I go ahead and bleach them and go through that process or can I just put them in a trash can of saltwater a powerhead and heater and start dosing bacteria?

If I go through the bleaching process what is the correct bleach to water ratio.

I was hoping I could just take the rock in its current form. Soak it in a water and prime solution. Then put it in another can with saltwater and a powerhead and heater and dose bacteria

If his tank crashed, I would be worried what was on those rocks not to mention putting them into my tank.
